Acrylic nails questions?

ive recently bought a acrylic set but its got gel in it (pink and white) but theres no powder in the set,so with this do i not need powder???i had my nails done a bit ago and remember them using liquid and powder,does the gel work the same way?

I don't know why there would be any gel in the kit. Its supposed to be liquid and powder. Why the gel? I've had gel nails done lots of times and they always used liquid and powder on them which looks a lot like acrylic powder but its powder gel instead. I have done many sets of nails at home with both the powder and the gel set you have recently purchased. The powder sets you buy at the store do not work well at all. They are missing the bonding agents in them that the salons use so the nails start to peel up around the edges and eventually pop off in one piece, tip and acrylic. Not to mention it is very difficult to get a smooth application with the powdered acrylic set. The gel set you have is much easier and last slightly longer than the powder do it yourself kit. It is self leveling and smooths itself out without any effort at all. You follow the directions on the package and brush it on just like nail polish. The effect is much nicer looking than the old powder do it yourself kits. But in all honesty there aren't long lasting either. For the best look and longest wear its best to go have your nails done professionally.
