my nails grow up very fast.. I tried both acrylic and gel nails though they don't last for more then 2 weeks. Can someone tell me which might last longer if acrylic or gel please? In reality though my nails are very short since I bite them. Well thanks.Acrylic vs gel nails?
I liked gel nails better when I got them because they were gentler on my real nails. They did last longer too. I didn't have to go right away to get them filled in. I think I had gels on for about a month and a half. You can also get the gels on your real nails to keep them strong, and to prevent you from biting them. That will give them a chance to grow also.Acrylic vs gel nails?
A friend of mine says nothing can beat her Gel nails.
I'm assuming that what you mean when you say that they don't last long is that you find yourself in need of a fill every 2 weeks, and not that they are popping off or something like that, right?
If your nails grow quickly, then you will need a fill more often. Thats just how it is. Once every 2-3 weeks is an average time to wait between fills. Also, if you are getting Pink %26amp; Whites (Forever French), then you also need what is called a backfill, or ';Rebalance'; every 4-6 weeks.
With gel nails, you can sometimes go a little longer between fills. But waiting too long can cause problems such as 'lifting,' and takes longer to do because of the additional work involved in the fill process.
One last thing: I've said this over and over, but its important that people are aware of this, and if you don't want to get ripped off, and your hard earned money taken from you, then here is a tip: The application of gel nails never involves the use of any liquid %26amp; powder (as in acrylics). Gel looks like gel, not powder. It has a hair styling gel look to it, but comes in a lot of different colors, but normally only pink, clear, and white are used. Gel must be cured under a UV light in between each and every layer.
Bottom line is this: If the tech is dipping her brush into liquid, then into a powder, and applying that to your nails, you are not getting gel nails, you are getting acrylic nails. Period. And you are paying a higher price for these 'gel' nails, thus you are getting scammed. No matter what the tech tells you, if a powder is used, they are NOT gel nails. Gel is the only product used in the application of real gel nails. Beware of this scam. And, there is no such thing as ';powder gel'; - in case a tech ever tries to tell you that is what they are using on your 'gel' nails. It doesn't exist.
i have had acrylic nails for almost 3 years now,(taking them off for 2 weeks every 4 months)
and i usually can get up to 2 1/2 to 3 weeks in between fills
gel nails in my opinion dont last as long and tend to look tarnished after some time
