Warm Water. You could also try Egg yolk and water. Warm honey is good, but not too much. Oil wouldn't work cos arylic is a polymer resin material and NOT oil paint.
Oh yeah, water will thin the paint also, so you may end up with watery paint. The egg yolk/warm honey thing gives it a more flowing consistency and also keeps it's body.
Don't bother with those acrylic mediums from art shops as they are PANTS!
Oo! Also, I just remembered - you could try some gum arabic solution, but that's not really household as such. Unless there's some in your house already. It makes the acrylics not dry so fast.
Hope you get on well anyhow. Are there any household liquids (i.e. oil) that can improve the flow of acrylic paints?
try some washing up liquid neat or dilutedAre there any household liquids (i.e. oil) that can improve the flow of acrylic paints?
you can buy a special medium , but why bother when water is better anyway
Water!
Yep, that'll be water then!
Acrylic paints are designed so that you can add water to them. This will improve the flow but dilute the colour, so do it very sparingly. Once the paints dry, they are waterproof.
nail varnish remover (but it is difficult to find that uncoloured) or correcting fluid/liquid paper (Tippex) thinners (which can be expensive) or white spirit.
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrylic_pai鈥?/a> you can use water to thin it!
Hope this helps.
