Acrylic on pastel paper?

If I thinned down acrylic, would I be able to paint with it on pastel paper? I'm on a really tight deadline to complete a painting and I can't go and get anything else right now. Would it be a waste of time to try this?Acrylic on pastel paper?
You may find the paper ripple and wave from getting wet but if you are desperate and have no alternative go ahead. If you can tape it down all around onto a piece of sturdy board like 1/2'; plywood then dampen it with water and dry it with a hair dryer it will shrink and stretch the pape. This will minimize the ripple and wavy appearance after to finish the painting, Watercolorists do a similar thing for watercolor paper. After the paint is dry you can also drymount it or spray mount it to foam core if you need to also.
